Well, Here I am, constructing and destructing a blog again.There are a lot of things that I can relate to these concepts: construction and destruction. For a long period of time and still, I love volcanoes. I love their energy, screaming out that they are alive. The earth constructs by striking the inside mass out to the surface, making mountains, mounds and volcanoes, whatever grandiose things that are there high up. The exact opposite is underway at the same time;it destructs them into smaller mounds or even into flat grounds by slightly stealimg away whatever substance of which they consist. And that's what human do. Construct and Destruct. And buildings are establised and destroyed, so do civilizations, kingdoms,i nstitutions, systems, regimes, paradigms, theories, ideologies, propagandas. So do works of art. It goes round and round and round.
And here it is , a stanza from W. B. Yeats ,who had a keen attention to this idea way before me in " Lapis Lazuli",
On their own feet they came, or On shipboard,
'Camel-back; horse-back, ass-back, mule-back,
Old civilisations put to the sword.
Then they and their wisdom went to rack:
No handiwork of Callimachus,Who handled marble as if it were bronze,
Made draperies that seemed to rise
When sea-wind swept the corner, stands;
His long lamp-chimney shaped like the stem
Of a slender palm, stood but a day;
All things fall and are built again,
And those that build them again are gay.
